[The Promise of Home]

I'm seeing a pattern here...

I barely post reviews here on Newgrounds, but for this movie, I make an exception.

I liked your submission called Her and Mine 1001 wishes, but it had exactly the same flaws as this movie, notably the mediocre graphics, and especially the animation. You have a knack for influencing people emotionally, and you should definitely keep your focus there. The poor quality of the movie itself weakens the effect, reducing it to mediocrity.

One thing you should ditch is the pattern you seem to apply to your movies. You basically pick a song, play it twice, and show a slightly animated slide-show in the process. I noticed how you incorporated a running animation somewhere in the middle of the movie, it didn't look all that bad. If you just take a little more time and use this kind of animation thoughout most of your scenes, you could definitely make the whole thing easier to watch, and improve the storytelling.

The combination of on-screen dialogue and music works, but try and use two different songs, and don't let them determine the length of the movie. Get rid of the silence in the middle and try and use music without any lyrics.

I hope you find this review useful, and that it might help improve your next works. I'm definitely going to watch them.

Good screenplay!

I like this flash, but not because of the graphics. I think the graphics seriously lacked, but the awesome screenplay and sound made up for that. It's rare to see someone make a great flash with sub-par graphics, and that's why I comment.

The screenplay's alright, the sound's good too, what you need to work on is how to visualize it. If you can manage to pull that off, you'll sure have one awesome piece of flash. But heck, I gave this an 8. You're definitly heading the in right direction :]

Very original concept, but the execution lacks. The moving camara was very annoying and made it very hard to watch, especially during the fight scene with all the stats on screen.

Then again, the concept of having a life action FF fight is very orignial, hence I gave it a 6/10 (or 3/5). If you ever decide to make a sequal, try to put the camara on a tripod and add some sound effects.

Impressive

You really have an eye for detail, except for maybe a few minor details, you almost re-created the outro (except for, of course, the characters). Just that deserves recognition ^^

Not bad at all

You say you're 13, right. Well, for something made by a 13-year old, this isn't half bad. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's much better than the standard issue stick movies that were made in less than the time needed to read the newspaper's front page.

The only thing that could use some improvement is the sound. The music is kewl, but it doen't really interact with the events. Also, though you did made voices, some sound effects would be nice.

Anyway, keep it up!

[Bushido - Episode 1]

Needs voices, really

This movie desperately needs voices, which is a real shame because the rest looks promising. The sound was good, great music and nice graphics to boot.

Also, try to go easy on the motion tweens. Sometimes is looks a bit cheesy and not very dynamic, especially during the credits.

Anyway, you did good work and definately on the right path to very quality flash :]

This is some quality entertainment

Really nice work you guys got here. I'm impressed.

-squeeze- [7/10]: Decent animation, I'm just weirded out by the concept. I suppose that guy is posessed by something, but in general, it just seems like random violence to me.

Luis [8/10]: I like some of the animation and the fast pace. I think the chacacter designs (especially the uber kid) could use some tweaking, but in overal view, this is one of my favs.

Weirdo [9/10]: This is my personal favorite, although the animation was very limited at times, it was exiting to watch. Nice screenplay and utilisation of the music (I think the music fits this scene best).

Afro_Man [7/10]: Extremely fluent animation, but the simple character design and the pointlessness made it a downer.
